The HBO documentary The Crash Reel sagas the rise and fall of Olympic hopeful Kevin Pearce, a professional snowboarder who nearly died in a horrific training accident.
Inspired by the story, I made a road trip to a screening of the movie in Vermont, where Pearce would be in attendance. With a small camera, I created a poignant online video documenting the event. Upon seeing the video, The Crash Reel's Oscar-nominated director posted it on her Twitter page, urging her followers to "watch this beautiful 60 sec film."
